Stuart Little – Grades 3-5, Running September through November
The Start of the season features this delightful presentation of the adventures of Stuart Little. Following the YAG signature style, this acting ensemble plays many human and animal roles in a series of delightful scenes that make up the journey of the little mouse.

The Snow Queen - Grades 6 and up, Running September through December
A simply gorgeous presentation of this beautiful story, which includes the wonderful language of the narration. Some support music backs the journey of Gerda to find her friend whose heart has been frozen by the cruel Snow Queen. Opportunities for older actors in “Adult “roles (i.e. the Snow Queen herself, {imagine the costume!}); The Spider; The Storyteller Magician; and the Robber Bandit (a great role); A special group of dancers / musicians may also be included. An assistant director will be needed and offered to a college or older YAG student. Performed at the Mendelssohn theatre, this show promises to be a real extravaganza.
Auditions are scheduled for September 27th and 29th

2010 – 2011 Season
Stuart Little – Grades 3-5, Running September through November

Antigone – Grades 10 and up, Running December/January through February/March
A production experience for our older students. This adaptation is a clear examination of the question “What happens when neither side in a conflict agrees to yield?” The direction taken – vengeance will breed vengeance – is a lesson for our times. This new script gives equal opportunities to all characters, rather than focusing on two main roles. The chorus is involved in the action all the time and are seen to anticipate and influence the events. The production will be an opportunity for performance “in the round” and for students to learn the techniques associated with this style of theatre.
The Outlaw Robin Hood – Grades 3 through 6, Running January through March
A challenging and action filled play about law and order in medieval England. There is strong action, dramatic clashes and vigorous confrontation as Robin makes his choices. Highly recommended by the International Agency of Plays for Young People for students of these ages.
The Pink Panther Strikes Again – Grades 6 through 9, Running Late January through April
The world’s most unusual criminologist, Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau, fights for his life in the most bizarre and dangerous caper of his career. The cast includes assassins, Russian agents, and of course the Pink Panther. Excitement builds as the world is running out of time. Sixth graders can choose between this production and Robin Hood because rehearsal times may conflict.
Nosferatu – The Legend of Dracula – Grades 9 and up, Running Mid-March through May
Finally a script that does justice to Bram Stoker’s thematic core of his classic tale- the power of good over evil. It will work beautifully in the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre – scrims, light effects, sound, all creating the chill factor that will do justice the sub-title “A thriller in two acts”. Numerous roles contribute to the progression of events in the Gothic tale which preceded today’s “Twilight”, “True Blood” and “Vampire Diaries”.
Please note that running times, which include auditions and performances, are approximate at this stage and may change. Please check the website for updated information.
YAG – More that just a great performance.
